Of a total of 1,979 Acropora colonies studied during a survey in the lagoon
of Kanton, all of them were recorded dead - hence the 100% threat listed above.
Because of the challenges in using the Vitareef methodology to study a dead
reef, we undertook a more in depth approach using point count analysis. To view
